Singing In The Rain

Okay October was not a total wash out. I had three good hikes in the rain. First there only a few people on the trail which is always a bonus. Then I got to test out my hat, jacket, shoes, and socks.

My hat worked great. While it is low in style points, its large brim, directed the rain away from my face and neck. It was soaked at the end of the hike but did its job amazingly well. I don't spend a lot of money and I got this one at Wal Mart for $10. I may look to upgrade my hat as always I am looking for suggestions.

My Merrell shoes are waterproof and have about 900 miles on them. I am about ready to by a new pair and when I do it will be the same pair. The Merrell Moad Edge 2 are my shoes and I look to others to prove me wrong. Great pair of shoes that hold up well.

Then the final thing that kept me happy on the trail in October are my smart wool socks. I have thick and thin pairs depending on the weather. I have never been disappointed with them. Amazing socks. No you don't get a picture of my smelly socks.

I am still looking for a good rain jacket and rain pants. I need help in finding a pair that will work and let me breathe.

Pack Lightly and Enjoy the Rain
